- In the classroom, the child with autism has difficulty in understanding the tasks, following the teacher’s instructions, socializing with classmates. There are strategies that have proven their usefulness in teaching children with autism. An autistic child needs to know what awaits him in the classroom and what comes next every single moment. When changing the situation or the task, the child must be prepared and carefully introduced to the new situation. This order will reduce the stress in the child. The use of visual stimuli is very important because autistic children think “in pictures”. In the learning process, it is good to use the strong interest of the autistic child in certain topics (eg. animals, cars, etc.). They should be related to the studied material in appropriate ways. The child should be given brief and clear instructions so that he/she can clearly understand the task. It should not be forgotten that loud sounds, bright lights and touch can cause anxiety in a child with autism. Users – school teachers and special educators. Beneficiaries – children with Autism in primary and secondary education.
